Monica Sandri has more than two decades of experience in international development, including 12 years in Afghanistan with UNHCR, IOM, and MRRD, with a particular focus on forced migration. During her career, she has consolidated considerable experience with leadership, organizational communication, and report writing. She joined MRRD in 2010 as Emergency and Social Protection Advisor, providing technical support to the Directorate of Social Protection. She also worked for WFP as Capacity Development Consultant to define the capacity development strategy for WFP Afghanistan to assist government partners. She returned to Afghanistan in July 2015 to work with ATR to develop the capacities of government officials and members of civil society as ATR’s Capacity Development Director.
