ATR uses rigorous and comprehensive systems to monitor and evaluate immediate and long-term impact during and following the completion of project cycles.
Afghanistan is one of the three remaining countries where polio is still endemic and UNICEF has committed itself to continue the work on polio eradication, jointly with WHO and the national government and other partners. ATR supports the UNICEF Polio Program in conducting independent Third-Party Monitoring to complement direct monitoring by UNICEF and implementing partners. ATR’s efforts provide field-level information and use of different information sources to validate and identify critical program performance issues for actions. These findings are then validated and triangulated in real time to allow UNICEF to make programmatic decisions and adjustments.
