100 Successful Women radio series evaluation (US Embassy)

ATR consulting undertook a quantitative and qualitative study to measure the coverage and the impact of the radio programme ‘100 Successful Women’; produced and designed by Lapis and commissioned by the US Embassy. The survey was conducted over the phone in five provinces (Kandahar, Jalalabad, Balkh, Herat and Kabul) and consisted of interviewing a total sample of 1652 respondents. The quantitative study was complemented by the findings from 12 focus group discussions, conducted both in rural and urban areas. Findings were analysed by area and by demographic to give a detailed portrait of the program’s impact on Afghans’ perceptions of successful women and strategic recommendations were developed on how these perceptions might be improved.
